I needed a replacement batter for my hp pavillion dv-9000 series laptop computer. I decided on this battery due to the stated battery life and price. I only get about 3 hour of battery life on my computer when I am running severall applications at the same time. What was really surprising was how long it takes the batter to recharge on my system ... 10-14 hours once the battery is completely discharged. My old battery would only take about 3-5 hours to recharge but 10-14 hours is ridiculous. I continue to use the battery but will not go with this model again next time around.

This battery fits and works fine. However it is made larger than the original equipment by building a large ridge on the outside. The ridge is the full length of the battery but unfortunately the battery is not the full width of the laptop. So when in use the ridge is between 2/3 and 3/4 the width of the machine. To mitigate the effect that has, the ridge has little rubber feet. The result is the laptop now tilts toward you and it is less comfortable when actually used on your lap. In fact, with prolonged use on your lap it gets downright uncomfortable.

Wanted more battery power and length of use. This was the answer I was looking for. Plus it keeps the computer angled so heat can escape and it runs cooler.

Simply put...worked very well out of the box but pretty much died after four and a half months. I am an IT professional who has worked with laptops and other devices over the years and followed the proper charge/discharge cycles to no avail with this battery. It has everything else going for it but is a waste of money with a 4-5 month lifespan.
